License Usage Reports (Admin Console Insights)
Learn how to monitor and report on Asana license usage using the Admin Console's Insights tab and Members view.
Overview
Monitoring license usage in Asana is essential for effective user management and cost optimization. The Admin Console provides tools to view both high-level and detailed information about user activity and license allocation.
Accessing License Usage Information
To view license usage:
-
Click on your profile photo in the top right corner and select Admin Console.
-
Navigate to the Members tab.
In the Members tab, you can:
-
See the total number of seats purchased and how many are currently in use.
-
View a list of all members, including their roles and last active dates.
-
Identify inactive users who may no longer require a license.
This information helps in making informed decisions about license reallocation and identifying opportunities to optimize seat usage.
Exporting Member Data
For more detailed analysis:
-
Use the Export CSV option in the Members tab to download user information.
-
The exported file includes data such as user names, email addresses, roles, and last active dates.
This allows for customized reporting and deeper analysis outside of Asana.
Utilizing the Insights Tab
The Insights tab in the Admin Console offers a high-level overview of organizational activity:
-
Track overall task completion rates and project progress.
-
Monitor team engagement and identify trends over time.
While the Insights tab provides valuable organizational metrics, it does not offer detailed license usage data. For granular information, refer to the Members tab.
